Red Letter Days

Flying lesson booking details, payment & other stuff!

For the safest way to make the earth move!

ALL BOOKINGS ARE MADE BY TELEPHONE
Please telephone Paula on 0845 130 9676 during normal office hours and we'll enter your name/s in our diary for the day/s you request.

PAYMENT
Payment for trial lessons is made on the day the event takes place .... except of course in the case of vouchers purchased as gifts which will have been paid for at the time of purchase.

Payment for all trial lessons and the One-hour Introductory Course can be by credit card, cheque or cash on the day.

Payment for the 12-hour Introductory Course is made on the first day of the course. Cheques and cash accepted.

All subsequent payments for training up to PPL standard are made on the day of the flying. Cheques and cash accepted but if paying by credit card for continuation training, a surcharge of 2% will be made.

ACTION ON THE DAY
You are requested to telephone 0845 130 9676 between 0745 and 0830, on the day your course is booked.

This will serve as a weather check to save you a wasted journey and it will confirm to us that you are actually coming. If you have not phoned in by 0900 we will endeavour to contact you, but if we cannot reach you, it will be assumed that you are not coming and your slot will be given to someone else on our "standby" list. We have to operate this system because on numerous occasions in the past people haven't turned up, and valuable time has thus gone to waste.

THE GOOD OLD BRITISH WEATHER
The weather dominates our sport to quite a considerable degree and it is just possible that the weather may be unsuitable on the day you have booked. It is essential that you are prepared to accept this inevitable frustration as one of those unfortunate facts of life and the way we work our way around it is by rebooking you on another convenient date.

CLOTHING
Please wear suitable outdoor clothing. We provide thermal oversuits for cold weather but you must wear suitable body garments such as an anorak and jeans. For footwear - trainers in summer and warm boots in winter. For cold conditions we also supply mittens to keep your hands warm, and balaclavas to keep head and face warm.

In the summer it can be very hot on the ground but quite cool upstairs. Our thermal suits may be too hot on some days but you'd be quite cold in say just a tee shirt so please always bring an anorak and a thick jumper then we can decide on the day which is going to be best.

  See you soon hopefully.
Gentle breezes
