Introductory Flying Courses
After your trial flight you've either felt that this was a wonderful experience
but you want to leave it there as a treasured memory or, like most people, you'd really like
to learn how to fly.
| Just think, when you have your licence, what wonderful experiences
you'll be able to share with your friends and relatives. Maybe drifting across the sparkling
waters of the Solent in your own latest state-of-the-art aeroplane down to Sandown on the
Isle of Wight for a cup of tea at the airfield or a dip in the sea. Or maybe viewing the
majesty of the sun setting on a balmy summer evening on your own magic carpet. The limitless
horizons in this sport are just waiting to be explored, like this for instance...........
Now some people are so enthralled by their first flight that they just decide to get stuck
in right at the beginning, but most folk need a bit more time to make up their minds before
making too much of a committment so we usually start everyone off on our introductory courses.
If you'd like a bit more flying time just to be sure that you really want to go ahead,
simply phone Paula to book either the One-Hour or the Twelve-Hour Introductory Course. |
|
- ONE-HOUR INTRODUCTORY COURSE - £121
This involves an out-landing at another airfield with more time to handle the controls
and a chance to have some of your questions answered by an experienced instructor.
- TWELVE-HOUR INTRODUCTORY COURSE - £841
There are two ways you can do this course. One is by booking your lessons on a day-to-day
basis as and when you can fit them in, maybe once a week for instance. The other is
by taking a few days holiday and doing a couple of hours a day over 5 days.
This course includes all your books, and ground subjects lectures on video and interactive
computer, together with club membership. You simply book each one-hour lesson as and
when your time permits either during the week or at weekends. This is an ideal way to
determine if you want to continue without having to commit to a full training programme
right at the beginning.
- FULL TRAINING TO PPL - see "How
much does it all cost?"
This is a very comprehensive and detailed course, but it's tailored to suit your time
requirements. With 25 to 30 hours of flying to do in total, most of our students book
one or two lessons a week and finish the course over a period of about six months .....this
way it doesn't completely take over the whole of your life! With detailed ground briefings
and expert tuition, it usually takes us about 15 to 18 hours to get the average student
to solo stage and from then on it's plain sailing through to obtaining the licence.
Because by now you'll have a share in our special ownership scheme, once you have your
licence, all our aircraft are at your disposal as if they were your own so you can share
this wonderful experience with friends and family at the cost price of £33 per
flying hour.
And by the way, if you're reading this in the autumn, don't assume that it would be better
to leave it until springtime. We operate 363 days of the year (guess which two days we
have off!) and we have some wonderful flying during the winter months. You won't be cold
because we have special clothes and anyway, what could be a more wonderful experience
than floating above a carpet of glistening snow on a sharp, frosty, sunny day.
Prices include VAT and are subject to change without notice
