Assistant Flying Instructor Course

So how much will this all cost?

PRICES Inc VAT (updated Sept 04)

  • PRE-ENTRY GENERAL FLYING TEST £60
    (Paid on day of test)

  • PRE-ENTRY WRITTEN EXAMINATION £25
    (Paid on day of test)

  • ASSISTANT FLYING INSTRUCTOR COURSE £2950*
    (Paid - see below)

  • COURSE BOOKS AND DOCUMENTS £35
    (Paid - see below)

    (*Deduct £300 if using your own aircraft)

PAYMENT
A deposit of £100 is required to secure the dates for your booking. The AFI Course Fee balance is paid in full on day-one of the Course together with payment for the books and documents. All other items stated above will be paid for separately at the appropriate times.

There will be other fees to pay in addition to those quoted above, but they are separate from the course. The BMAA require £30 to process the paperwork for your final test. The examiner will require a fee for the test - usually around £100, but could be a bit more. And the CAA want their bit too for supplying the rating - usually around the £50 mark.
