Assistant Flying Instructor Course

Light reading at bedtime!

The Microlight Flying Manual - RD Campbell & J JonesWill I need to bring any literature to the course?
Yes! Purchase and bring with you Ron Campbell's "The Microlight Flying Manual" (published by Granada). This gynormous tome makes an ideal instructor manual in the absence of one specifically written for the purpose. We think it is just a little bit too comprehensive for your average Joe BMAA for whom it was written, but it contains information which we consider suitable for microlight instructor level.

Also, remember to bring your PPL, Current Medical Certificate and Log book and ensure that the 'Certificate of Experience' is current in your Log book. This is very important as we can't do the course unless these requirements are met.

What about accommodation ?
There is a rather cosy place called Oakdown Farm quite close to the airfield which we can thoroughly recommend. You are completely self-contained in your own bungalow complete with TV and your own cooking facilities if you want to do your own meals in the evening.

A full breakfast is cooked for you every morning and I daresay the landlady could be persuaded to provide an evening meal too if you're more experienced in the art of flying than producing cullinary delights. The grub is excellent and the price very reasonable.

B&B = £38 double room - £20 single room per night.

Telephone Mrs Hutton on 01256 397218.
